Why Lime Is Important for Your Lawns

Lime is crucial to balancing soil pH, promoting soil microbes to convert macro and micronutrients available for your lawn to use. Lime helps to unlock all of those dormant nutrients in your soil and from Virginia Green’s great fertilization schedule. Proper soil Ph is one of the most important key factors in a successful lawn in Virginia. Having the right soil pH range for your lawn optimizes the value of your fertilization investment, giving you a greener and healthier lawn.

Flexible & Affordable

Most lawn care applications must be applied during certain times of the year.

However, adding lime to your lawn can be done at any time of the year. Liming is one of the least expensive ways to improve soil conditions and also one of the most important steps you can do to take your lawn to the next level.

Balancing Soil pH

Virginia soils are naturally very acidic as most of Virginia soil is clay based, common pH levels typically ranging from 4.5 to 6.2 in areas that have not had lime applied.

While a pH of 5.0 suits blueberries and azaleas, Virginia lawns generally require a pH of 6.3 or higher to get the best results.
